The City of Jumilla is concluding the works of improvement of the public illumination of several avenues and zones of the municipality.
Existing luminaires are being replaced by others of a led type, which will lead to an energy saving compared to the previous ones of between 60 and 70%, will allow an accurate measurement of the consumption, a greater optimization of the maintenance and the reduction of emission of gases of Greenhouse effect, as well as greater security.
It is an example that in the avenue of Freedom has gone from a consumption of 21,000 to just over 8,000 watts.
The lights of the lanterns of the Libertad, Murcia, Yecla and Ronda Poniente avenues, part of the streets Salvador Dalí and Goya are being changed, as well as those of the urbanization of Santa Ana del Monte, whose work is in its straight line final.
Replacements still have to be made for the Hellín road.
Likewise, the work that will provide public lighting in the streets and transit areas of the La Hoya Sports Center, which until now was lacking, is underway.
In total, some 400 headlamps have been replaced and 70 complete new streetlamps have been installed, 40 of them in the urbanization of Santa Ana. Eight light boxes have been arranged and 250 linear meters of new power lines have been installed.
In total, it involves an investment of about 500,000 euros that will have a lower cost of receiving electric power for the municipality.
Councilor for Works and Services, Francisco González, said that "this year we intend to continue with the improvements in the lighting of other streets and some districts, with the aim of avoiding the blackouts that are suffered in some areas by the lack of Maintenance of the facilities for years ".
