The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, accompanied by the councilors Alfonso Pulido and Salvi Pérez, received this morning in the plenary hall to 52 French students from Cossé-le-Vivien who have been during the last week in the town.
The students have attended classes in the Infanta Elena and Arzobispo Lozano IES, discovering the Spanish educational system and participating in a series of visits and activities both in Jumilla and in other nearby cities such as Granada, Cartagena and Valencia.
For their part, Spanish students will visit France between March 31 and April 9.
Like the French students in Spain, they will take the opportunity to discover the region, in addition to attending classes at the Collège L'Oriette de Cossé-le-Vivien.
This is the ninth year that this exchange is organized, but the first that is done jointly between the two institutes of Jumilla.
At the event held today in the plenary hall several French students have told their experience in Jumilla, demonstrating the Spanish learned during this week of stay in the locality.
Collège L'Oriette students have taken a bag with local tourist brochures and the French teacher responsible for the project, Julie Bruand, has been presented with a reproduction of the Jumilla Castle.
On the part of the local institutes, the responsible teachers are Antonio Azorín and Carmen Ruiz.
