The Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment has granted the City of Jumilla a grant of 20,000 euros to carry out different reforms in the Central Market of Abastos after request made in the call last September.
The City Council will contribute an amount of 14,953.69 euros to reach the figure of 34,953.69 euros which is the cost budgeted to face two improvements in this facility.
This is an action within the Comprehensive Plan to Support the Competitiveness of Retail Trade in the Region of Murcia.
On the one hand, the ceilings will be removed from the main hall, where street stands are placed on market days.
It has recently been detected that it is detaching from the slats or wooden structure that supports it, modifying and dragging the false roof of detachable plaster that covers it, breaking plates and deforming the uniformity and flat shape of it.
The false ceiling will be placed again with replacement of the damaged plaster pieces and will be used to renew the lines of lighting and luminarias.
This part of the reform has been valued at a cost of 23,479 euros and a term of execution of one month.
Another action is to replace the existing gates that separate the side aisles with the patio, placing them in a suitable place that completely closes the ships through new automatic glass doors, thus avoiding that several kiosks are unprotected towards The central courtyard.
The cost budgeted for this reform is 11,474.68 euros and the execution time is two weeks.
