Last night the Young Art Awards corresponding to the 2016 competition were presented at the Roque Baños Cultural Center. Up to 15 works were recognized in the plastic arts, music, photography and literature.
A diploma was issued and economic vouchers were distributed to be exchanged for material.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, congratulated the winners and other participants, assuring that she has attended all the editions and is always surprised by the great quality of the creations.
"I encourage young people to continue showing how much they are worth," he concluded.
For his part, the Councilor of Youth, Juan Manuel García, recalled his past related to the world of music and its passage through this contest years ago.
He made it clear that in the Jumillana youth there is a great talent once he was watching one by one all the works.
The awards ceremony, presented by the journalist Irene Santos, was dedicated to Hilario Simón, who was one of the winners in the literature, precisely in the first edition of the contest, held in 2001.
In the modalities of photography and plastic arts the jury was composed by Alberto Esparza, Eduardo M. Gea and Joaquín Ruiz.
The awards for photography in category A (from 14 to 18 years) were distributed in this order between María Romero, Francisco Gea and Leire Navarro, while in categories B (19 to 30 years) were recognized the images of Alba Morcillo and Juan Antonio Gandía.
In plastic arts the awards were for Ana Gilar and Paloma Gómez (category A), Eva Martínez, Jesús Monreal and Prisca Abarca (category B).
The works can be observed in an exhibition in the Department of Youth, in Plaza del Rey Don Pedro.
The jury of the literature was composed by Ana María Olivares, Juan José Lajara and Magdalena Jiménez.
The first prize went to Luis Javier Fernández for his work 'La Batalla';
Roberto Pérez took the second with 'Eneágono', while the third went to Lidia Pérez with 'Penélope'.
In music the works were valued by Alejandro García, Juan Diego Gómez and Andrés Martínez.
The win was for Carlos Gonzalez, ahead of Murilo Martins de Souza.
