The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the president of the Central Board of Holy Brotherhoods, Fulgencio García, met yesterday in Murcia with the Minister of Culture, Noelia Arroyo, and its general secretary, José Vicente Albaladejo, to address the Matter of collaboration by the Autonomous Community in the organization of the XXX National Encounter of Brotherhoods to be held in Jumilla in September.
Mayor and president of the JCHSS have transferred to the counselor the need to know to what extent the collaboration will be carried out "in order to be able to plan all activities with the assurance that they will have budgetary coverage," said Juana Guardiola.
Noelia Arroyo verbally committed to use various items of current expenditure of the Ministry of Culture to collaborate with the event, which will take shape in the coming weeks in a document.
On the part of the City Council there is an intention to make an extraordinary contribution to the Central Board of Brotherhoods of Holy Week to face the organization of this meeting, as assured the mayor.
Wine Museum
Another of the issues on the table in yesterday's meeting as mayor and Minister of Culture was the need for collaboration to finish adjusting the Jumilla Wine Museum.
There is already a project, which will cost more than 500,000 euros.
"Given the importance of this museum, as well as for Jumilla, also for the Region of Murcia, I have asked for an important involvement to condition it, as has been done with other museums in other parts of the Autonomous Community," says Mayor, Juana Guardiola.
The objective is to reach some co-financing agreement that will allow us to start the hiring process and that over the next year we can begin with the refurbishment of this space "so important for tourism in Jumilla", says Juana Guardiola.
