This Friday the works of reform of the Plaza de los Cipreses of La Pedanía de La Estacada were inaugurated with a concert of the youth band of the Musical Association Julián Santos, that also served like symbolic ignition of the Christmas lights, act that had been Postponed by the rain a week earlier.
Present were the Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the peddler of La Estacada, Maria Belén López, the Councilor for Works and Urbanism, Francisco González, the Councilor for Culture, Pilar Martinez and the Councilor for Celebrations, Cande Fernández.
The works of the square have consisted of the paving of all its streets with printed concrete simulating stone, as well as the recovery of the 620 meters of stone curb that had previously and dating from the early seventies of last century.
In one of the streets has been engraved the rose of the winds, which will be colored.
All architectural barriers have been removed and a new source of drinking water has been built.
Likewise, the side walls of the square have been painted white with the aim that the students of the institutes embellish it with a mural.
The furniture has also been renovated, placing new benches and litter bins.
The total investment, adding the performance made in a first phase last year, together with the now, exceeds 100,000 euros, as noted by Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González.
