Yesterday was celebrated in Jumilla the tenth edition of the Popular Christmas which, according to the Department of Sports, outperformed those of recent years.
It was more than 300 athletes who came together, leaving more than a ton of food that was collected by Red Cross Jumilla to be distributed to the most needy.
Likewise, the money of the inscriptions will be donated to this organization.
In the sports field, Salvador Martínez and Pruden Guerrero were the two winners in the overall standings, both representing the Yecla Triathlon Arabi Club.
At the local level, the fastest in the finish line were Francisco José Muñoz and Ana María Molina.
Again, the goal was for the Christmas atmosphere to be a protagonist in the race, so that the most eye-catching costumes were rewarded.
In the category of majors triumphed Mama Noel and its elves, besides the Athletics Club and Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.
In the modality of children, the first prize was for Batman Family, the second for the Club of Athletics and the third for Javier Bernabeu.
In the presentation of trophies were present the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Sports, Juan Manuel Garcia and the Councilor for Public Health, Lucía Jiménez.
García Verdú had words of gratitude "for all the volunteers and clubs that have made it possible for another year to have the race."
