The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the councilor of Works and Urbanism, Francisco González, yesterday inaugurated the remodeling works of the Acerica Garden and its surroundings, located in the First District, opposite the Church of Santiago.
In the garden has been placed natural stone, which comes to solve the problems of paving that existed in this square, since it was land and because of the steep slope that presents used to be dragged when heavy rains fell, eroding the soil In some areas.
Likewise new concrete curbs have been installed, the playground has been improved and the urban furniture has been renovated.
As for the staircase that connects the garden with the street Cuatro Cantones, which was made of cement, it has been paved with pieces of rusty irregular slate of different sizes.
In addition, different works of painting and improvement of the plant areas have been carried out in both spaces.
Biosaludable sets have also been placed.
The works of reform of the garden have had a cost of 29,964.55 euros, in those of the stairs that communicate it with the street Four Cantones has invested 7,598.80 euros, while in the renovation of recycled banks, paper mills, turret of Lighting, painting of the walls and the railing have spent another 5,000 euros, leaving a total of 42,563.55 euros.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, said that "this is a zone of Jumilla very dear to everyone and that it needed a rehabilitation to contribute to make it better known, revalorized and visited."
For his part, Francisco González referred to this space as "an emblematic environment of Jumilla."
The head of the Garden Service of the Jumilla City Council, Juan Manuel Pérez, reported on the changes made in the garden, planted lavenders, rose bushes, mulberry, rosemary and sabinas, as well as replenishment of planters without plants .
