The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Jose Manuel Lorca, inaugurated on Saturday afternoon the Social Center 'Hermitage of the Third District', once it has been rehabilitated.
The event was attended by several councilors of the municipal corporation, the pastor of the Church of El Salvador, Valeriano Martínez, the president of the Neighborhood Association of the Third District, Fernando Fernandez, as well as several neighbors.
After the cutting of tapes, the mayor and the bishop proceeded to unfold the plaque that opened for the building, which already has a library, a meeting space for the association of neighbors and even recreation of a part of one of the Classrooms of the time in which in the building was school center.
In total, an investment has been made in the rehabilitation that is around 60,000 euros.

For his part, Fernando Fernández, thanked the authorities for their assistance, as well as the investment made in the work.
He also had words of remembrance for the parish priest Juan Paco Baeza "because of the enthusiasm and drive he had to gather the neighbors and make this place of meeting, faith and study."
Two other neighbors addressed the audience by reciting a poem and thanking the reopening of the building.
The first cultural activity is planned for next Saturday 26 at 12 o'clock with the celebration of a children's story with the title 'Stories to divide the box'.
