Sports director Alonso Gómez has visited several sports facilities in Jumilla this morning accompanied by the mayor, Juana Guardiola, the councilor of the area, Juan Manuel Garcia, PP councilor Aitor Jiménez, as well as local and regional technicians.
The Municipal Sports Center La Hoya has been their first destination, where they have passed through the natural grass soccer field, athletics track, summer pools and tennis courts.
Next, they visited the Covered Municipal Swimming Pool and the Velodrome Bernardo González.
According to Alonso Gómez, this visit is part of the round that is being carried out by all the municipalities of the Region "to know firsthand the state of maintenance, conservation and use to make decisions in the future knowing what each locality counts ".
For her part, the mayor of Jumilla said that "the state of the sports facilities in the locality is not optimal and they need a lot of investment injection that is being done in all cases at the municipal cost. Check that we need more collaboration from our Autonomous Community and I am sure that next year it will be. "
The City of Jumilla will invest 600,000 euros in the construction of a new Olympic glass in the Municipal Pools La Hoya, whose works are about to be awarded.
Precisely this week has been contracted the purchase of part of the material for the value of 20,000 euros to equip the athletics track and recently has improved the lighting of the football field Antonio Ibáñez and has developed the skating rink.
Likewise, the 2016 budget includes 113,500 euros in agreements and subsidies with sports clubs.
The stands at the La Hoya football field will be repainted and will have new seats.
The action will cost 15,628 euros, of which 4,616.37 will be subsidized by the General Sports Directorate.
