The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Social Policy and Equality, Salvi Pérez, presented this morning the activities scheduled to mark the International Day against Violence on 25 November.
The events begin this Friday with the celebration of a day for professionals on actions against gender violence.
On Tuesday 22, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., an information desk will be held against gender violence in the Central Market of Abastos.
That same day and Thursday 24, from 17.00 to 19.00 hours, will be given the Personal Self Defense Workshop for Women in the Municipal Pavilion of Sports, by Alejandro Flores, of the Cultural Sports Association Dojo Bujinkan Jumilla.
Registration can be made by calling 968716367, being the minimum age of 13 years.
On Thursday 24 different workshops will be held to present the Center for Attention Against Gender Violence in Jumilla (CAVI).
At 11:00 am at the IMAS Senior Citizens Day Center and at 12:00 in the Jumilla Red Cross.
For Friday 25 there are several activities planned.
In the morning, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Teatro Vico, 'Niñ-s', a storyteller in Equality directed to the groups of 3 ° of Primary of the locality will be represented.
In the afternoon, at 20.00 hours a silent concentration against gender violence will be held on the monolith of Paseo Lorenzo Guardiola.
At 8:30 pm, at the Teatro Vico, the Manifesto against gender violence will be read by students from the IES Infanta Elena High School and also the screening of the short film 'El es perfecto', with the Participation of students Ana Martínez Pastor, Raquel Tomás Espinosa, Francisco Ramos Guardiola and Silvano Gómez Ramírez.
There will also be screened the film 'The Station of Women', an optimistic comedy about the departure of a group of women from situations of cultural domination.
The mayor stressed that "society must continue to be aware of the fact that we still have a lot to do in this respect. It is important that we draw the attention of the youngest, because unfortunately this type of violence begins at an earlier age" .
The Councilor for Social Policy and Equality has pointed out that "the aim of this week of activities is for society to show its rejection of gender violence, since it is one of the most cruel and cowardly acts. We wanted to do it with a positive message, that's why the motto used is 'From gender violence comes out'. We want to convey to these people that they are not alone and that we can help them. "

People who want to participate can take a photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the Council of Equality of the City of Jumilla with the hashtag #delaVGsesale and as a form of revulsion towards this violence.
A video has also been produced in which a message of a victim of gender violence and an endpoint in which the positive message of the campaign is transmitted through people with different positions.
It will be broadcast on local television and can be found on the social networks of the City Council.
