The XIII Regional Assembly of the United Left-Greens in the Region of Murcia chose last Saturday as regional coordinators Candi Marín and José Luis Álvarez Castellanos.
They will share position in the coordination Marín, mayor of Moratalla, and Álvarez, former councilor of IU in Mula.
Among the new features of the Assembly are the participation of training sympathizers, which represented 30% of those attending the assembly.
Also attended by five delegates as part of IU-Verdes Jumilla.
The Regional Assembly also attended the federal coordinator of UI and deputy of Unidos Podemos in the Congress of Deputies, Alberto Garzón.
During his speech, he criticized the new government of Mariano Rajoy for forming a government exactly the same as the one with the absolute majority, thanks to the PSOE's decision to support the government.
Deputy Alberto Garzón warned the PSOE and Citizens that they will be forced to apply the cuts that the Popular Party has on the agenda, or there will be third elections.
On the Assembly, Garzón says that this is a very important call for the future of the United Left, as it is a turning point after a stormy process.
"Now what we are doing is building forward and for the benefit of the working class, the social majority and the people who undergo the neoliberal management of the crisis."
After the Assembly, Candi Marín declared that its priority is to recover the mobilization in the street and to work with the groups at risk of social exclusion.
Jose Luis Alvarez predicted that hard times are coming and that, before it, it is necessary to advance in the reinforcement of a social majority capable of opposing all the cuts that are going to come through a continuist policy, both in the Regional government as in the central and European institutions.
Since Monday, the new direction begins to work meeting to choose the responsible of the different areas of work: social movements, finances, local administrations and women, among others.
