Wednesday was established in the city of Jumilla a worktable to comply with the Law of Historical Memory, passed in 2007. Attended the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, representatives of the three municipal technicians political parties, as well as the directors of IES Archbishop Lozano and the College Mariano Suarez buildings on their facades maintained badges of the Franco era.
The Historical Memory Law states in Article 15 that the government, in the exercise of its powers, take appropriate measures for the removal of shields, badges, plaques and other commemorative objects or references of exaltation, personal or collective, of the military uprising, the Civil War and the repression of the Dictatorship.
Councillor for Culture, Pilar Martinez, has said that "it will give transfer to the ministries of Education and Culture to issue report on the withdrawal of the shields of these two buildings, which would be replaced by constitutional shields or logos center ".
It is planned that in the near future continue holding meetings of this working.
