Jumilla Local Police is conducting this week a special campaign to control the rate of alcohol in drivers.
The campaign began yesterday and will be finalized on Sunday 12 June.
Alcohol is present as concurrent or triggering factor in a third of fatal accidents.
His presence on driving depending on your rate, multiplied between 2 and 15 the risk of an accident.
"The only safe rate is 0.0%," indicated from the DGT.
It is not only related to increased accidents but also affects higher mortality, to be linked with a worse prognosis factor in the injuries sustained.
It has detected a change in behavior of citizens that has caused the percentage of positives detected a fall markedly in the past decade, from 5.1% to 1.6%.
However, it is a priority objective of the DGT try to get down 1% positive for alcohol in randomized preventive controls.
It is noted also that: "Regardless of the effect on drivers, alcohol is also a risk for pedestrians as road user who shares with others the public space, mainly in urban areas, which makes the participation of all municipalities in this campaign has an extraordinary importance. "
