A group of experts of the wine world from China and Australia yesterday visited the Castillo de Jumilla.
They were accompanied by the Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Pilar Martinez, and the president of the PDO Wines of Jumilla, Pedro Lencina.
Sino-Australian delegation is in town to mark the Wine Quality Contest Jumilla held next week.
Among them are journalists, gastronomes and tasters.
Highlights the presence of Australian Robert Geddes, recognized as Master of Wine, Certification who have managed fewer than 300 people worldwide.
The title Master of Wine is undoubtedly the most respected in the industry, the most difficult to achieve and who holds it has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the art and science of viticulture and oenology and the wine business, supplemented by an important domain tasting wines from around the globe.
Pedro Lencina noted the importance of these specialists in the wine world are in Jumilla in advance of the event "that is serving to check the great potential of wines from Jumilla".
The president of the DO Jumilla also stressed the trade and tourism relations that are opening with this visit.
Meanwhile, Juana Guardiola was pleased by the visit "will serve to project what we are, because in Jumilla have much to offer: great wine and a multitude of resources in the territory we know export".
During these days, the Sino-Australian delegation is visiting several areas of vineyards and wineries jumillanas.
The mayor of Jumilla and the rest of the corporation held tomorrow afternoon at 18.00 an official reception at the City of Jumilla.
