The mayor of Baena, Jesus Rojano was asked to deliver the opening speech Drum, at a ceremony held yesterday at the Wine Museum, and in which the appointment of Honorary Drummer Bartholomew Abellán was also performed.
Jesus Rojano was received in the hall of the City of Jumilla by the mayor, Juana Guardiola, and part of the municipal corporation, with the presence of the senator, Seve Gonzales, and the regional deputy, Yolanda Fernandez, besides other personalities world drum.
Already in the Wine Museum, the town crier was presented by Manuela Lopez, Councillor for Communication and Trade of the City of Baena.
The proclamation itself started with a complete history lesson, in which those present could know the reasons for the peculiar dress of the most outstanding figure of the Holy Week of Baena, Jews, whose drum filled with sound streets the location.
He noted that the people of the drum have in common a language that communicates and recalled that there are three different touches the drum in Baena: the battles, the sad and joy or jubilation, which could be heard on stage.
Rojano also highlighted "the emotions that are experienced when the drum, which allow sharing with friends and playing with children. Thus was born the union around the drum, which is the most satisfying thing is."
Referring to the future of tamboradas of Jumilla, he said "that is secured thanks to the wine."
Then the appointment of Drummer of Honor was held, which this year falls on the figure of Bartholomew Abellan, which was presented by his son Casimir, who was proud of his passion his father by the drum.

Finally, attendees could enjoy the performances of Drum School Kids Adult School Drum, Jews Colinegros and white-tailed de la Peña Riquitiplín of Baena and the group of friends Symphony Polygon.
