The number of unemployed in Jumilla at the end of February was 2,756, representing an increase of 68 people compared to January, but down from 325 when compared with figures for the same month 2015. In the last seven years the trend has been repeated and February has always ended with the largest number of unemployed than the previous month.
This increase more than 68 people have been charged in women, with a total of 40 men against a total of 28.
Grade Level the bulk of unemployment continues to focus on general education levels (primary and secondary), being much less significant in vocational education and especially in the higher vocational training.
Age relatively low youth unemployment, only 11% of the total unemployed, remains to be the most numerous group between 25 to 44 years with 46% of the unemployed and 43% of the older group 45 years.
By nationality virtually the same percentages as in the previous month, representing Spanish 87% as the majority group remain, not being significant group of citizens of the European Union (only 2%) and 11% foreigners outside the European Union.
By economic sectors decreased by 1% unemployed in the service sector, up to 43% of the total, the sector with a higher unemployment rate and is where the bulk of female unemployment is concentrated.
The Councillor for Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, stressed that continued efforts to further improve the figures, highlighting the positive side the considerable drop compared to the same month last year.
"It should be noted that unemployment in Jumilla is lower than in other populations, but we must try every time down more. In our town we're getting stable figures despite domestic political uncertainty, to which must be added the good prospects future campaigns to work ahead. "
