Jumilla City Council and the Association have submitted a Project Abraham implementation campaign cardboard boxes in public buildings, schools and businesses to recycle clothes, shoes and toys.
This was presented by Jesus Sanchez, Councillor for Environment and Rafael Sanchez, president of the Abraham Project.
Merchants interested in working in this collection may apply for these cartons in the Environment Service.
In July, will hold a meeting with traders in Jumilla to explain the collection process and convened with representatives of other schools in September.
Jesus Sanchez pointed out that since 2001 this association has to do with the city of Jumilla and this year has reflected this collaboration through a partnership agreement approved unanimously by all political groups, "the objective is to elaborate on tasks recycled and further enhance the awareness of recycling this waste through implementation of new bins in a campaign targeting both businesses and educational centers, "said the councilman.
In the town of Jumilla and 13 containers are installed in the village, of which 7 have been placed there this year and 6 above, adding 3 more in the districts of La Alqueria, Fuente del Pino and in the EcoPark.
The specific location of the containers are: Calle Goya, Plaza de San Juan, Avenida de Levante (2), Calle Infante D.
Frederic, street Fuensanta Our Lady of the Avenue de La Asunción, Avenida de Reyes Católicos (3), Calle Luis de Gongora, calle Echegaray Street and Irene López Heredia's Fourth District.
The council reported that 2001 was collected in the municipality of Jumilla around 10,250 kilos of waste textiles, and in 2009 have been collected 46,800 kilos.
For its part, the president of the Abraham Project thanked the council their interest "because the project would not exist today had it not been Jumilla maybe it was the first municipality in the region that a firm commitment to support this group."
Rafael Sanchez has said that this collaboration agreement for the textile collection has helped generate over 200 direct jobs "and now with the collection of textiles and shoes have in the past five years an average of 29 stable jobs," said association president adding that "from September we will try two goals, to achieve the ideal volume of 7 or 8 kilos Jumilla each citizen consumes each year from textiles and other social objective is to further increase the posts work in this region. "
This is another resource that the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, through the Directorate General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, made available to municipalities, businesses, institutions and others to promote recycling of waste textiles, footwear and toys.
With this and other actions, the city of Jumilla continues (as it has done since 2001), promoting the recycling of this waste in the municipality.
The awareness campaign will be strengthened, in October, with talks is awareness in schools of the municipality making known to lower social and environmental benefits of recycling clothing, shoes and toys.
