The Association "4 Legs Jumilla" in the coming days will launch a campaign to free sterilization of animals, one of his most ambitious projects of this group, thanks to the collaboration of the Europäischer Tier und Naturschutz eV (TNCs), European Crop Protection Association Animal and Environment, based in Germany, as reported in a press release.
A team of German veterinary spend several weeks in Jumilla for about 500 sterilizations of dogs and cats, both males and females.
The project, with a budget of about 20,000, is funded entirely by the TNC and is performed with the approval of the City of Jumilla, in the Municipal Animal Shelter Abandoned.
Anyone interested in applying for this campaign, which will be held from 3 to 16 July, just have to get in touch with four legs.
Technical ETN Jumilla visited last year and other nearby towns to assess more effective ways to help associations working for the rights of animals in the Region of Murcia, as many abandoned pets usually end up finding families adoption in Germany.
Solve the problem at its root, is the proposal to the TNC.
The project will benefit animal welfare and collaborators Totana, Murcia, Molina, Mule or Cotillas Towers.
Also municipalities in other provinces and Villena, Bétera, Ibi or Tobarra.
In Jumilla, 75% of stray animals so far this year no more than five months old and are the result of unwanted litters of individuals who do not control the reproduction of their pets and then not take care of the offspring.
With a single sterilization can prevent the arrival of a large number of unwanted puppies.
All animal shelters are overcrowded and the limit of its possibilities.
Not worth asking for help later, prevention is the best weapon against abandonment.
The TNC will conduct a public awareness campaign during their stay in Jumilla.
Microchips for half price
On the other hand, the Association Jumilla '4 legs' will subsidize the implementation of the microchip on pets cost half the amount.
For 15 euros, and during the month of July, all pet owners can meet this legal requirement under the Municipal Ordinance tenure Jumilla pet.
Only have to approach the municipality veterinary clinics, which assist in the second edition of the "No", which aims to convince that an animal without a microchip is completely helpless and that, moreover, violates the law.
Grant is expected to reach 100 pets, the same as in 2009.
