The Minister of Culture, Ángeles González-Sinde, has opened this morning in Jumilla Socio Cultural Center Roque Banos, in homage to the composer Jumillano, Favorite Son of Jumilla and has to his credit, among others, three Goya awards.
Previously, he has made an official visit to the local council, with the assistance of Mayor Francisco Abellán, the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar and the same Roque Baños.
After the visit to City Hall, where he greeted the corporation and has signed the book of honor, the procession moved on foot to the center.
On the way they have been surprised by the rain that threatened all morning the skies of Jumilla.
On arrival, a group of the Brotherhood of the Blood of Christ Drums have played a few taps and then the plate was discovered.
The event, attended by several authorities, project managers and representatives of many groups and associations of Jumilla, began with the words of Mayor thanked Jumilla Francisco Abellán, first, the presence of the Minister, as representing a government that "is revealed and cares for the interests of Jumillano."
Abellán stressed that "the center, which is a landmark building and an important social value, created with the aim to be a meeting place and meeting place for all, for say, constructive criticism and ideas."
He also pointed out that the name chosen for this building "was unquestionable, as the best representative of the Culture is undoubtedly Roque Baños, a person who has made herself the effort and talent."
For his part, Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde has indicated that the establishment of this center, "guarantees the right of all citizens to access culture."
It has also highlighted the incalculable benefits that the center will report to Jumilla as "improving the living and well being generated by the meeting in a place that belongs to everybody, all kinds of people from different ideas and generations."
It also offered relevant data representing culture in a country's economy, which in Spain is 4% and, therefore, "that politicians work for the development of cultural aspects is very important."
Although, he said, "that culture can not be measured in figures as what the company reports is not quantifiable."
He also had praise for the person that named the center "I congratulate this talented man and his family has been able to support and promote the development of his great qualities."
In his capacity as screenwriter said that "music is the glue of the film, so that when an image has not been entirely good or actor looks the other hand, a composition of Roque fixes everything."
Finally, the minister concluded by saying that "people have been enjoying most of the culture have been more prepared to face the future."
For its part Roque Baños, who has shared the stage with the minister in the movie '7 minutes, welcomed this new recognition by Jumillano to make this center the name "Paco appreciate your support, Loli, to all who have supported me, my friends and everyone who shows me so much love when I see them on the street. The composer Jumillano referred to a proverb that says "girlfriend rainy, happy bride," saying that he now felt like the bride happy.

After the speeches, the participants conducted a site visit, at which time responsibility for the Brotherhood of Drums gave a drum as the Minister of Culture as Roque Baños.
As the recently opened Cultural Center Partner Roque Baños, the construction company Ferrovial Agroman has been and has involved over 17 companies.
The editor of the project architect was José Francisco Sánchez Cánovas and project managers Herminio García Poveda, Juan Simón Ruiz, Placido Cañadas.
The building has been built on a plot area of 600 square meters with a total floor area of 2410.82 meters square.

The contract was 1,995,000 euros, of which 405,000 were contributed by that ministry and the rest of 1,490,000 euros by the council.
The center has a reception, café, meeting room, public use, local radio station, individual rooms for offices of various associations and on the top floor to house municipal offices and Citizen Participation Department of Commerce.
The building is designed with all facilities, full air conditioning and all necessary points of electricity, common areas, toilets, stores, etc.
Recently, the full council approved the award of premises in the center for a total of 17 groups, some as single use and other shared use.
