| Together with those of urgent need they reach the amount of 189,000 euros, to which we must add almost 150,000 euros in subsidies for social purposes | The Department of Social Policy has quadrupled during 2020 the aid of extreme need granted compared to the previous year.
By the end of the year, 2,185 aid for food, pharmacy, butane, scholarships for school meals, bus tickets, as well as cash payments had been delivered.
They have amounted to 65,582.97 euros, while in 2019 it had been 15,983 euros.
On the other hand, 123,266 euros have been managed in aid of urgent need, an amount similar to that of the previous year, which together with those of extreme need reaches the figure in 2020 of 188,849 euros distributed in 2,443 aid.
"There was no limit to these items, with the aim that no one who asked us for help would be left behind because of the pandemic," recalled the Councilor for Social Policy, Antonio L�pez.
For this, they had an extraordinary covid grant from the Government of Spain worth 104,000 euros.
About 150,000 euros in subsidies to groups for social purposes With the same aim of dealing with the health situation, the nominal subsidies granted to the Red Cross and C�ritas were doubled in 2020, from 15,000 euros to 30,000 in each case.
The AECC, Aspaj americano and Amfiju have also received nominative grants worth 51,500 euros, among the three associations.
To this must be added 36,307.37 euros in subsidies for seven non-profit associations with social and socio-sanitary purposes, in a competitive competition regime.
The Municipal Budget 2021, already in force, again prioritizes social spending.
Subsidies of 30,000 euros to C�ritas and the Red Cross are maintained, which are joined by nominative agreements of 10,000 euros with ARJU and ASAMJU.
This year, the chapter dedicated to Social Policy, Health and Cooperation exceeds 1.4 million euros.
