Juana Guardiola: "All of us from Jumilla should feel proud, and in particular those of us who work for Wine Tourism in the municipality" The V Wine Tourism Awards 'Wine Routes of Spain', organized by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN), have awarded the Special Mention for Best Wine Tourism Municipality to Jumilla, a proposal presented by the Department of Tourism, "for having a consolidated trajectory linked to promoting wine heritage and other cultural manifestations, for showing a clear commitment to wine tourism, being a promoter of its route and its subsequent territorial growth, for continuing to promote the territory through the recovery and exhibition of this heritage, the celebration of different traditional festivals,carry out awareness-raising actions towards the local population and improve tourist signage in the municipality ".
After knowing the recognition, the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, has assured that: "All of us from Jumilla should feel proud and in particular those who work side by side for Wine Tourism such as the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Jumilla, the Jumilla Wine Route, wineries, oil mills, hotels, shops, restaurants.In short, all of us who together with the City Council offer all the tourist resources that we have.We have come a long way in wine tourism since the Wine Route was created, but we have more wood to achieve much more, "he concluded.
