"The uncertainty that surrounds this type of event, where many preparations and anticipation are necessary in advance, has made us decide to get down to work to prepare for next year's edition", said the Councilor for Agriculture, Juan Gil From the Department of Agriculture of the City of Jumilla, the celebration of the Agricultural Fair this year was scheduled for the weekend of November 13 to 15.
After studying different possibilities, it has been decided to promote next year's edition and suspend the entire program for 2020, since a very large percentage of exhibitors are from outside the town and although it takes place outdoors, there may be crowds of public. In this way, given the current situation, the Councilor for Agriculture, Juan Gil Mira, has announced the suspension of this event, which since it was recovered by the City Council three years ago, had achieved a significant impact and notable attendance figures.
"However, the current pandemic situation, and the uncertainty surrounding this type of event, where many preparations and anticipation are necessary in advance, has made us choose to get down to work to prepare for next year's edition" .
The councilor has advanced that they intend "to prepare a different program, join it to training activities and accommodate the different exhibitors who have contacted us at this time." Juan Gil thanked all the participants for their understanding and collaboration and, furthermore, clarified that "we have been in contact with the most important agricultural fairs that are held in Spain, and all have been suspended, as well as other events, since giving online character to this type of event is really complicated ".
