| Tonight the façade of the Town Hall and the Plaza del Trucker Juan Soriano will be illuminated in this same color | The councilor for Health and Social Policy, Antonio López, and the president of the AECC in Jumilla, Dami Herrero, accompanied by councilors of the corporation and members of the association, have placed at noon today on the balcony of the Town Hall the pink ribbon to commemorate the International Day Against Breast Cancer. "The pink ribbon is the world symbol that has been used for years to represent the fight against breast cancer and incidentally to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis to detect any symptoms in time", said the councilor, Antonio López, who stressed that, tonight, the façade of the Town Hall and the Plaza del Camionero Juan Soriano will also light up in pink. In the event it was recalled that since last Wednesday and for two weeks, the 'Recycle glass for them' campaign has been underway, initiated by the City Council and Ecovidrio.
The initiative aims to mobilize citizens to recycle glass containers to take care of the environment and at the same time contribute to research against breast cancer through two pink igloos located on Paseo Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola.
Ecovidrio will transform the containers deposited in the containers into a donation to the Sandra Ibarra Foundation for Solidarity Against Cancer.
