A few days ago, there was a cross between statements between PP and PSOE on the cost of the events this summer, with statements quite distant regarding the cost of all those events. IU Verdes has always been committed to providing information to citizens about all this type of municipal spending and as a political group we have been the only ones who have given exhaustive information.
We must once again ask each other (PP and PSOE) to truly demonstrate their commitment to transparency. Regarding the PP, we have to say that they were not transparent at all in the legislature in which they governed, they did not fulfill any of the promises of transparency that they made while they were in the opposition. Regarding the PSOE we have to regret that they have traditionally been very opaque and that at this time they are even more so.
Comparisons are always annoying, but the truth is that they have been excusing themselves because there was no electronic system that allowed information to be given, but it is no longer an excuse, the PP of Yecla, with an absolute majority, publishes the complete minutes of the meetings of the local government board, complying with the data protection law and without supplying an excuse. Two municipalities with government teams with an absolute majority, with the same file management system and electronic headquarters, have very different regard for citizens, Yecla publishes the minutes and all the agreements of the Local Government Board that are of interest to the citizens and who are not private, Jumilla does not publish even a summary of those agreements, much less the minutes.
For IU Verdes, it is very unfortunate that a formation like the PSOE, which is said to be the Left, acts on these issues the way it does. Regarding the transparency of expenses and contracts, whether they are of the "non-fair" or of the summer or whatever, we believe that the crossing of statements regarding expenses is a smokescreen for PP and PSOE.
The only way for citizens to control the actions of the City Councils is by making known where the City Council's hiring data is.
IU Verdes makes available to all citizens a small guide for anyone who wants to access this data and can comment and talk about all those contracts, which are not published by the municipal government in the most accessible way for citizens but in the state platform and by pure obligation of the laws
