| The idea was born as a commitment by the Municipal Public Library for innovation in experiences that promote poetry and gender equality | The Department of Culture has organized the Poetry Festival "Waiting for the Rain", which will be held in an online version, given the pandemic situation, from October 19 to 23.
"The idea was born as a commitment by the Municipal Public Library for innovation in experiences that promote poetry and gender equality," according to the councilor for the area, Pilar Martínez. The project is proposed as an instrument to promote poetry through the creators themselves, with five of the most relevant poets of today in Spain, some of them from the Region of Murcia. Every day a poet will recite one of her poems, which can be viewed through a video that will be accompanied by a brief review and that will be available on the Library's Facebook page and also at Bibliotecadejumilla.blogspot.com.
In parallel, a prominent book or collection of poems will be recommended daily from the funds of the Municipal Library of Jumilla. "With this initiative, which brings the world of letters closer to the public through new technologies, it is intended to foster a passion for poetry and creativity", highlighted the Councilor for Culture.
