As of today 03-17-2020, an edict of the Councilor of Finance has been published in which the interested taxpayers are informed that the standards of certain taxes and fees are approved, such as the occupation of public roads with Kiosks , occupation of land for terraces, fords, fixed and mobile stalls in the markets and the fee for garbage collection.
Most of these taxes and fees are from the first semester of 2020 and therefore cover from January to June.
Although this edict was written on March 6, before the declaration of the state of Alarma, it has been finalized and published on the municipal website dated March 17, Izquierda Unida Verdes believes that it is not reasonable to publish this edict without have reviewed the possibilities that the City Council has to help pay those taxes and fees.
It should also have been taken into account that mayoral resolutions have been made prohibiting the holding of the market by street vendors, that cancel concessions on the public highway, such as the terraces, and that these fees must therefore be recalculated. .
IU Verdes proposes that this edict be annulled, that the amounts of those taxes or fees be reviewed in accordance with the current situation and that all kinds of facilities be also provided for people, companies and self-employed workers who are going to suffer a very serious economic impact due to the economic crisis that the state of alarm for the coronavirus will suppose.
Just as the Spanish government is going to guarantee that basic service supplies (electricity, water and gas) are not cut to those who suffer an economic impact from this crisis, we believe that measures should be studied so that citizens have a favorable treatment with municipal taxes.
We believe that each administration has to help in what it can at this time, State, Autonomous Community and of course our City Council.
