The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Public Health, Antonio López, have reported this morning that the Jumilla City Council has taken the decision to postpone all events to be held in municipal spaces, in principle until the next 31 March, "following the advice of the health authorities with the aim of minimizing the chances of contagion by coronavirus."
The government team has been contacting all groups with scheduled activities "to cancel them in principle and postpone them as much as possible."
Therefore, all scheduled events are postponed until the end of March (Central Board of Brotherhoods for Easter, La Alquería festivities, Cristo de la Sangre Drums Association, including the Alcorisa National Days, brotherhood events, etc.) " being only pending to know the decision of the Federation of Peñas with the act of election of Vendimiadores, scheduled for tomorrow and that we hope that finally follow the recommendations, "said the mayor.
Likewise, all competitive sports activities and training sessions have been canceled.
Sports facilities will remain closed.
UP courses, guided tourism visits, as well as activities in the Conservatory Auditorium are also suspended.
The Road Safety Park, the libraries, study rooms, museums, Castle, Casa del Artesano, Teatro Vico and Espacio Cultural are also closed.
Nor will weekly markets be held in the next two weeks "to avoid concentration of people."
Measures have been taken with regard to the personnel of the City Council, "for which reason we ask the citizens to, where possible, carry out their procedures electronically or by telephone."
In addition, the selective processes planned for these days, among others, have been postponed.
Both the mayor and the councilor for Health have transmitted a message of calm and confidence in the measures adopted by the competent health authorities, recommending that they ignore the hoaxes.
