This afternoon the presentation of the fifth edition of the Youth Training and Employment Project of the Altiplano, carried out by the Councilor for Social Policy, Antonio López, the director of Cáritas Jumilla, Jose Abellán, was held at the City of Jumilla Coordinator of the Jumilla Social Services Center, Vicente Martínez, and the social worker of the program, Roxana Pinar.
It is a project to improve employability that has the collaboration of the City Council and is co-financed by the European Social Fund, the Murciano Institute of Social Action and managed by Cáritas.
The objective is to provide support in their processes of incorporation into the world of training and employment to young people between 16 and 29 years of age enrolled in the National System of Youth Guarantee and in a situation of social vulnerability.
During the current 2019/20 academic year, 85 young people from Jumilla and Yecla are intervening individually.
From the Social Services Center of Jumilla, the Nazareth Project is referred to young people who, due to their characteristics, fit in it and also follow up to achieve maximum program effectiveness.
The young participants in the project follow personalized itineraries of socio-labor insertion through which they receive information, support, job guidance, training and comprehensive social support.
In addition, they participate in workshops to prepare key skills, equal opportunities and non-discrimination, gender perspectives, new technologies, social skills and active job search.
The technical team of the project is made up of a social worker, a socio-labor counselor, a social educator and two trainers, integrated in the territorial Caritas and with the support of their volunteers.
Caritas is committed to local industry and meets the demands of professional profiles of the companies that compose it.
Thus, in Jumilla the Occupational Course of Auxiliary Activities of Warehouse will be taught with a duration of 185 hours and in which 15 people will be able to acquire the knowledge that will allow them to obtain the professional driver's license.
The course includes training practices in companies that offer them practical skills by performing a job in a real environment and accompanied by the tutor of the company and the Caritas team.
On the other hand, in Yecla, the Certificate of Professionalism Level 1 of Auxiliary Upholstery and Mural Operations will begin where 15 young people will participate.
The companies of the Altiplano have a great connection with the project they support with the reception of trainees, including people accompanied by Caritas in their employee selection processes and hiring.
Cáritas recognizes companies with the distinctive "Solidarity Entity", for their sensitivity and commitment to the social development of their environment, accompanying companies in the development of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan.
