Last night it was unanimously approved in the ordinary plenary session of January that the Jumilla City Council requests the Government of Spain to comply with the rules of operation of the Tajo-Segura Transfer that were approved in October 2013 in consensus with five autonomous communities and irrigators, as well as to reconsider the decision adopted in the months of November and December and issue an order to transfer the amount proposed by the technicians of the Central Operating Commission.
The motion was proposed by the PP group. Through an amendment of the PSOE, it was also agreed to request the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia to comply with the Regional Water Pact signed in 2018, and the president of the Autonomous Community from the Region of Murcia to convene the signatories of the Regional Water Pact to advance the objectives of taking the water debate out of the confrontation, unifying criteria and implementing all the autonomous measures.
Finally, the Government Council will be requested to work jointly with the Government of Spain in the implementation of a just water transition for our community, within the parameters of legality, sustainability and adaptation to climate change, and to guarantee the sufficiency and water security in the Region of Murcia, maintaining the Tajo-Segura Transfer, expanding the effective volumes of desalination plants capacity and ensuring the implementation of actions in all water reuse territories.
This amendment was approved with the positive votes of the PSOE and Mixed Group and the abstention of the PP.
On the other hand, the motion of the municipal group PP was rejected in which it was requested that the obligations assumed in the agreement with the CARM for the maintenance of the Bernardo González Municipal Velodrome be fulfilled.
It was also approved that Councilor José Antonio Jiménez Hammond will have 50% partial dedication.
He realized the extension of the 2019 Municipal Budget for 2020, the Mayor's resolutions, the delegated councilors and the judicial resolutions.
