The Ministry of Health has published today the provisional resolution of the contest for the award of new pharmacy offices, after 12 years in which it was not done, among which is that of the 4th Jumilla District.
The procedure was carried out during the year 2019 by competitive concurrence.
This award means that the repeated demands of the City Council obtain a positive result, since it was a demand in health matters during the last decade.
With the completion of this award process, the opening of the new pharmacy will take place.
At a meeting held in January 2018 and requested by the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola together with the former Councilor for Health, Lucía Jiménez, the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, showed her commitment that the pharmacy of the 4th District would be a of the new offices they planned to create.
The previous year, Juana Guardiola, had already requested it from the previous counselor, Encarnación Guillén, as well as in the meetings held with the different presidents of the Region.
Juana Guardiola has shown her satisfaction for the news, remembering that this pharmacy, "in addition to corresponding by population ratio, will cover a neighborhood of Jumilla away from other pharmacies and with an aging population. We must congratulate all for it."
The residents of this area had been claiming this pharmacy for years, at the time they collected signatures and had met several times with the local government.
