The Department of Tourism has scheduled for this year 2020 a total of 52 guided tours in the municipality, which began last weekend and will end on December 19.
"The objective is to make Jumilla known in an entertaining way and with great detail," said the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola.
"As in recent years, there are several of them that are offered in English, given the demand of tourists who request them," added the councilor of the area, María Quílez.
Ten different types of visits are offered on different dates:
-Route of the Hermitages
-Medieval castle
-Convent + Hiking Trail
-Old Town
-Gothic Jumilla
-Parroquia Mayor de Santiago and Renaissance Jumilla
-Ibera route.
-Easter Week Route
-Sierra de la Pedrera
-Cemetery

Tourist figures in 2019
On the other hand, the tourist data of the municipality corresponding to the year 2019 have been made public, whose figures improve with respect to the previous year.
In the absence of the exact figure, visits to wineries have gone from 42,722 of 2018 to approximately 45,000 of the year just finished.
Likewise, the numbers of visitors to the Ethnographic and Natural Sciences Museum (from 11,608 to 12,509) and the Archaeological Museum (from 4,877 to 4,950), while those of the Castle have remained (5,401)
With respect to the previous year, in 2019 the number of tourists who have visited the City Hall has increased by 20%, bordering on 5,000.
Visits to the Vico Theater are up 25%, from 1,715 to 2,151, doubling those of the Casa del Artesano, which reach 4,626 with respect to 2,232 the previous year.
The guided tours have had an attendance of 1,899 people, almost triple that of the previous year.
Likewise, the staff of the Tourist Office was reinforced.
In 2019, a community manager and a tour guide could be hired for six months part-time.
This office has served 4,758 people, 6% from the previous year.
Of all of them, 15.4% are of foreign origin.
This 2020 has also hired a tourist guide for six months through a grant from the SEF with European funds.
The mayor has highlighted the great work behind to make these figures better and better.
"To this are added the different advertising campaigns in the media and social networks, as well as continue to enhance the Jumilla Today page for English-speaking tourists.
