Jumilla will once again become the epicenter of one of the most important sectors for the city with the celebration of the 2019 Agricultural Fair organized by the City Council from November 15 to 17.
This morning, the mayor, Juana Guardiola and the Councilor for Agriculture, Juan Gil, presented the event, accompanied by the head of the department, Juan Manuel Pérez.
Again, the Patio de Mercado de Abastos, which will premiere its new pavement, the lounge, the fish market and the adjacent streets, will be the ideal setting to accommodate the more than 40 exhibitors who are going to meet and where the main brands of agricultural machinery, as well as news and services.
In addition, this time, for the first time, there will be the participation of the three agricultural organizations, since both COAG, as UPA and ASAJA, will have an informative stand, unanimously supporting the celebration of this fair.
Development of the program
The official opening is scheduled for Friday, November 15 at 5 p.m.
In this opening of the fair, the trajectory of a lifetime dedicated to the field and agricultural trade unionism of Jumillano Pedro Lencina, who will receive a commemorative plaque, will be recognized.
As one of the novelties within the program, on Saturday morning a commented tasting will be held directed by the secretary of the Murcian Association of Winemakers, Diego Cutillas, and coordinated by the DOP? Jumilla Regulatory Council.
In order to participate in this act that has been called 'Learn to taste Jumillas', it is necessary to previously register in Feriaagricola.es/initaciones/, with 30 being the maximum number of participants, so they will attend in order of registration.
As for Sunday, the IV edition of the Skill Contest with Tractor and Trailer will be held in the indoor pool car park, under the coordination of COAG and Cifea, and the sponsorship of Caixabank.
In this test, a maximum of 25 people can participate, who can register from 10 in the morning and until the end of the first of the planned tests.
At 13:30 will be the awards ceremony in the market courtyard and at 15 hours will be the closure of this year's Agricultural Fair.
Sector Day
On the occasion of the Jumilla Agricultural Fair 2019, the newspaper La Verdad de Murcia has organized in collaboration with the City Council, a sector day dedicated to fruit trees and viticulture, which will be sponsored by Agrobank and will be held on Thursday, November 21 in the Roque Baños Center.
Different heads of service of the Murcian Institute of Agricultural Research, IMIDA, will end up with an interesting round table.
