After an introduction carried out by the secretary of the Regulatory Council, Carolina Martínez Origone, it was the sommelier's turn by the Basque Culinary Center, María Quílez Pérez, currently working in the Regulatory Council after obtaining a scholarship by this same entity to study the Master of sommelier and enomarketing.
The master tasting proposed a tour of the winning wines in the 25th Dum Jumilla Wine Quality Contest, showing the diversity of the elaborations of a PDO with much to say in Alicante, natural market and proximity of this PDO.
Parallel to this tasting, Bodegas Viña Elena, Parades del Valle Wineries and Vineyards, Bodegas Silvano García, BSI - Bodegas San Isidro, Bodegas San Dionisio, Bodegas Luzón, Esencia Wines Cellars, Bodegas Carchelo, Bodegas Bleda and Bodegas Alceño participated in the showroom of Verema showing its wines to the specialized professional public and wine lovers present in this important event that came to know the current reality of this PDO.
All of them agreed to highlight the quality and uniqueness of this DO, well positioned in the Mediterranean strip.
Those responsible for the Regulatory Council have described the experience of positive to enhance the knowledge of PDO Jumilla wines among the Alicante public, as well as its queen variety, the Monastrell grape, and also other grapes such as the Syrah, of great adaptation to the area .
