The Department of Public Health and the Local Board of Jumilla of the AECC have prepared various activities to commemorate the International Day Against Breast Cancer (October 19), which were presented this morning by the area councilor, José Luis Monreal, the president of the AECC of Jumilla, Dami Herrero, accompanied by Josefina Martínez and Fili Simón, on behalf of the association.
They will begin on Monday 14 at 12 noon with the placement of the pink ribbon that represents the fight against disease on the balcony of the City Hall.
In addition, at night the facade of this building will glow pink.
On Tuesday morning, information tables and fundraising material will be placed in the Supply Market.
A workshop on skin care and makeup is scheduled for Saturday, aimed at people suffering from the disease as well as anyone interested.
It will take place at the headquarters of the Amigos de Jumilla Association from 10.30 am
The activities will close on Sunday 20 with a march to the Castle, which will begin at 10.30 am from the Campos de Jumilla cooperative and will end with the representation of a pink bow, so it is important to wear a shirt or scarf of this color .
On the other hand, today the 2019 Breast Cancer Prevention Campaign ends in Jumilla, in which mammograms have been performed on more than 1,400 women.
From the AECC they have pointed out the high participation and recalled that the campaign continues now in Yecla, so if someone wants to move it could also be attended in the neighboring town.
