The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Services, Francisco González, along with area workers, have presented the reasons chosen this year for the Wine Fountain.
The structure is formed by two assembled parts.
The one above is composed of four figures with movement, two men and two women who step on grapes, and it is dedicated to the workers of the Jumilla wineries, "an important collective because every time, with the greater acceptance of our wines, there are more people working in the wineries, "said González.
The bottom part shows old photographs on wine barrels and, in them, the people who collaborated in the harvest stand out.
Most snapshots show women the way they traditionally worked, with sleeves, hat and other attire.
The barrels have been ceded by Juan Gil Wineries and the photographs by Placido Guardiola.
The idea of this edition is from the Councilor for Services, Francisco González, and the work has been carried out by the City Council staff.
Tonight it will be inaugurated about 9 pm once the mayor, Juana Guardiola, and the Vendimiadores of the Harvest Festival, accompanied by representatives of the clubs, deposit wine in it.
