The City of Jumilla, through its mayor, Juana Guardiola, has signed the agreement for the granting of the subsidy provided for in the 2019 Municipal Budget with the Association for the Protection and Defense of Animals and Plants 4 Paws Jumilla, which has been represented by its president, Irene Santos, in the presence, in addition, of the Councilor for Animal Welfare, Pilar Martínez.
The association will receive the amount of 43,000 euros with which the City of Jumilla collaborates with the activities that the association develops in the field of protection and defense of abandoned and lost animals, specifically those related to the care of animals deposited in the shelter Municipal.
The Association for the Protection and Defense of Animals and Plants 4 Legs Jumilla will be responsible, under this agreement, for the cleaning and maintenance of animals, taking the necessary measures to prevent their escape or loss, as well as feeding with adequate feed to their age and conditions, remove the animals from their compartments twice a day to walk, exercise and play, perform health care through a veterinarian and process animal adoptions.
Likewise, they will carry out activities related to the administration and attention to the public, such as carrying out a database of the users of the Shelter and the animals entering and leaving it, as well as making the necessary orders to carry out the maintenance and conservation of both the shelter and the animals housed.
The association will also launch awareness activities and campaigns.
