The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, accompanied by the Councilor for Celebrations, Sports and Public Safety, Juan Antonio Jiménez, Services, Francisco González, Culture, Pilar Martínez, and Tourism, María Quílez, as well as the representatives of the festive groups, they presented today in the Plaza del Rey Don Pedro the official poster of the Fair and Festivities 2019. Guillermo González, president of the Peñas Federation of the Harvest Festival, José Carrión, director of the National Folklore Festival, Paqui Pérez, president of the Association of Moors and Christians Don Pedro I, and Juana María Tomás, president of the Brotherhood of the Virgen de la Asunción, patron of Jumilla.
The poster has been made by the Jumillano architect Luis Ruiz.
The different cultural aspects that are part of the municipality's festivities are represented.
Offering a bunch of grapes, the typical "remangao" costume and its robe, the sound of folklore and the tradition of the Moors and Christians.
"All embraced by, perhaps, the most recognizable element of our town that is the Castle, with its Subidor sheltered by the starry sky alluding to the crown of our patron. Different planes of paper are intertwined to express the union of all in a party for all, "he said.
The poster image has also been used as the cover of the party program, which can be found in digital version on the municipal website and in print in different parts of the town: Tourist Office, City Hall and museums.
The Councilor for Festivities and Sports, José Antonio Jiménez, recalled the program prepared concerts, whose tickets can be purchased in advance via online through the platform www.globalentradas.com and face-to-face at the box office.
Likewise, he has referred to the extensive Sports program with which the Week of Fair and Festivities counts, highlighting as a reference test, the Cross Fiestas del Vino, which turns 41 and is celebrated as usual in the morning of 15 August.
The mayor, Juana Guardiola, has described the Fair and Festivities of Jumilla as "unique for their great variety" and has praised "the great work and previous effort to prepare them for the collective in coordination with the City Council."
The popular Catalan group The Sticker will have Jumilla as one of the destinations of his tour 'The biggest party', which starts tomorrow in Segovia and ends in Amsterdam on December 13.
They will perform in the courtyard of the IES Archbishop Lozano on Wednesday, August 14 at 11:30 p.m.
Jumillanos can also enjoy a Queen Tribute on Friday 16, the same day will be held Drilo Symphonic performance with the Music Association Julian Santos.
