The City of Jumilla is held this summer different maintenance works in schools with the aim of being ready before the start of the new school year.
These are painting, carpentry, masonry and plumbing works in accordance with the needs transmitted by the schools themselves.
The Councilor for Educational Centers, Lola Gómez, and the Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González, have visited several of the centers where these actions are being carried out.
At the San Francisco School, the painting works on the first floor and the stairs have already been completed.
In addition, different masonry works are already underway at the entrance and in the sources of drinking water.
In the Miguel Hernández School, the sandbox of the patio and a wall that divided it were eliminated, leaving a diaphanous space.
Carmen Conde School has completed the painting of the metalwork of the main facade and the replacement of shower rooms by warehouses is underway.
"The repairs are being carried out by municipal employees, as well as through several contracted companies, all of them based in Jumilla." Taking advantage of the students' vacation period, they are acting as in previous years in all the educational centers, that is done during the course with the needs that are emerging, "said the mayor of the area, Lola Gómez.
