The candidate of Citizens to the City of Jumilla, Ginés Pedro Toral, has proposed the realization of a strategic plan "to make known the great tourist potential that the municipality has and that is not being exploited properly."
Toral has announced this initiative during a visit to the Luzón winery, where he was accompanied by the national deputy Marcos de Quinto and by Isabel Franco, candidate of the Orange formation to the Presidency of the Autonomous Community, who have had the opportunity to know firsthand the process of wine making.
The candidate of Citizens has indicated that the municipality of Jumilla has enormous possibilities to attract visitors, but for this it is essential to develop an integrated tourism program at the local level that modernizes the offer and that can generate wealth and employment.
"We need to know the benefits of a municipality that has a unique landscape, and in which archaeological, religious and heritage tourism can be exploited, in addition to promoting wine tourism and gastronomic tourism."
"When we have responsibilities in the City we will carry out this novel tourism project that will go through the recovery of the historic center, which is in very poor condition, publicize places such as the Sierra de Carche and Santa Ana, and organize activities so that the visitor knows our gastronomy and our wines "has highlighted Toral, who has been convinced that the commerce and the hotel trade will be very benefited with the implementation of this idea.
For her part, Isabel Franco pointed out that it is essential to adapt the tourism model of the Region of Murcia to the new times "and that is why we propose a regional plan for strategic modernization, which pursues excellence, achieves professionalism, diversification, and a sustainable plan that allows to respect the environment.
In this sense, Jumilla is a municipality that has great possibilities since it has a very varied and attractive tourist offer ".
