The Tobarreño Evaristo Navarro Córcoles has offered today in the Vico Theater the Proclamation of Drum 2019. "To preach with words the sound of the drums is not an easy task," he assured.
He has reviewed the evolution of the Tamboradas de Jumilla, recalling his incorporation to the National Drum and Drum Consortium in 2011.
He has also emphasized the presence of the drum in all civilizations and moments of history, indicating different theories about its origins.
"It has been used throughout the world for many functions", including healing or de-stressing.
He has explained to listeners the reasons why each one plays the drum, providing a multitude of possible reasons and encouraging them to reflect on it.
Evaristo Navarro has finished assuring that: "Jumilla must be proud to achieve in record time the recognition that today enjoy their drums." The mayor of Tobarra, Amparo Ballesteros, has been responsible for presenting the town crier, remembering his many years as a teacher in the town of La Mancha or his time in politics, becoming mayor of Tobarra, as well as his great fondness for the drum.
Next, Juan José Bernal has received the title of Tamborilero de Honor 2019, presented by his friend, Andrés Martínez.
Bernal has dedicated the recognition to his family, his companions Pastry Naber and the Brotherhood of Rollo.
The president of the Association of Drums Christ of the Blood, Francisco Guardiola, has praised the words of the preacher, "loaded with culture and drum roots".
About Juan José Bernal he highlighted his human qualities and his contribution to the association.
The president of the Consortium, Antonio Mesa, congratulated the crier and Tamborilero de Honor, recalling the good work done by the Jumilla drums since 2006.
The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, has described the act as "emotional, a great day for the Tamboradas de Jumilla".
The crier thanked him for his bet on Jumilla.

Juan José Bernal has highlighted how much he is involved with his family in the drums.
He has also praised the good work of the association, "the most numerous of Jumilla", as well as his School of Drum.
To finish the act conducted by Laura Gómez, the Children and Adults schools of the Association of Drums Christ of the Blood and the La Jarra de Tobarra group have performed on more stage.
Prior to the act, both the town crier and the Tamborilero de Honor have been received in the plenary hall of the City Hall by the mayor and part of the municipal corporation.
