The City Council of Jumilla yesterday welcomed the presentation in the municipality of a new edition of the Training and Employment Project for Youth of the Altiplano, made by the Councilor for Social Policy, Salvi Pérez, the director of Cáritas Jumilla, Jose Abellán, the coordinator of the Jumilla Social Services Center, Vicente Martínez, and the work counselor of the program, Marisol Ibáñez.
It is a project to improve employability that has the collaboration of the City Council and is co-financed by the European Social Fund, the Murciano Institute of Social Action and managed by Cáritas.
The objective is to provide support in their processes of incorporation into the world of training and employment for young people between 16 and 29 years old enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System and in a situation of social vulnerability.
During the current 2018/19 course, 70 young people are being intervened individually.
From the Social Services Center of Jumilla, the Nazareth Project is derived to the young people who, due to their characteristics, fit in it and also follow up to achieve the maximum effectiveness of the program.
In Jumilla has begun a skills pre-workshop where 15 people are preparing for the tests of key competences organized by the SEF and that their improvement will give them access to Certificates of Professionalism level 2, thus expanding their chances of continuing to be trained in Occupations demanded by the labor market, will receive support in the preparation of the theoretical part of the driving license, obtaining occupational training in food handling, prevention of occupational risks and customer service, as well as cross-cutting issues related to the new technologies of the information and communication and gender equality and opportunities.
At the end of February the Certificate of Professionalism level 1 of "Auxiliary Operations of Furniture and Mural Upholstery" accredited by the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia began, with a duration of 320 hours and will be developed until the beginning of May, date in which the 15 participants of Jumilla and Yecla will perform 80 hours of non-work professional practices in local companies in the sector.
Measures have been put in place to promote geographical mobility between Jumilla and Yecla, granting transport and conciliation scholarships so that they can choose the training that best suits their needs without geographical mobility or care of people under his charge is an impediment to obtain a qualification and improve their employability.
In addition, given the socio-economic needs of these young people, the training is endowed with a scholarship for assistance in order to encourage their investment in improving their qualification that allows them to leave their situation of vulnerability or risk of social exclusion.
