The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, has again requested by letter to the Minister of Agriculture, Miguel Angel del Amor, to expedite the procedures that allow the arrangements to be carried out of the four roads whose conditioning was approved through the Program of European Rural Development.
The conditioning of the roads of La Raja, La Zarza, Yecla-Gamellón and sections two and three of the Colonization track was approved in June 2017 and it was announced that the beginning of the works would be done at the end of that same year or early of 2018. Likewise, the City Council attended the calls of June 2018, October 2018 and January 2019, without having received a response from its resolution.
The mayor of Jumilla said: "This is the second time that we are forced to demand the execution of the work in view of the enormous need for farmers who suffer the deterioration of these roads and the different changes in the criteria of the latest calls. "
For its part, the councilor of Agriculture, Juan Gil, has said "our most forceful protest, because it seems irresponsible, because it is European funds that the CARM can not handle at will as it gives the feeling that is doing "
On the part of the City council a continuous work is done to have the best possible the network of roads that give access to agricultural exploitations.
In this legislature has been acted on more than a thousand kilometers of roads with municipal machinery and with investments in personnel and improvements through own funds.
