The City of Jumilla has adapted through Murciana de Tráfico SA with a system for the blind the traffic lights of the avenues of Avenida de Levante with Valencia Street (Mercado de Abastos) and Avenida de Reyes Católicos with Avenida de la Asunción (Correos).
This type of traffic lights are connected through an application that will take the person with vision problems in the mobile and only work when the system that is installed in the traffic light detects the terminal of this person.
The Ciberpas mechanism is based on an electronic design that provides important advantages over conventional acoustic signaling devices and has been developed by Fundosa Accessibility of the ONCE Foundation.
The cost of the adaptation was 7,498.64 euros and it is one of the Leader projects presented by the City of Jumilla that were approved in this call.
Likewise, the traffic light installation of the Correos junction has been optimized to make vehicle and pedestrian movements compatible, seeking greater efficiency and agility of road traffic.
To this end, the capacity of the traffic control electronics has been extended and more pedestrian protection traffic lights have been incorporated, as well as some elements have been relocated to places to eliminate obstacles on the sidewalks.
