The jury of the 2018 Hypnos Awards, composed by Pilar Martínez Monreal, Alicia Abellán Martínez, Ana López Martínez and Benito Santos Sigüenza, and chaired by the mayor, Juana Guardiola Verdú, acting as secretary the head of the Department of Culture, Andrés Martínez, has decided the winners of this edition after deliberating among the different proposals presented in the different categories convened.

The Labor Sports award will be for Ángel Lencina Alonso, for his brilliant national and international achievements in the duathlon-cross modality, champion of Spain in recent years and with several European and World medals in the modality.

The Dedication to Culture prize will be awarded to Pascualita Morote Magán, honorary professor of Language and Literature at the University of Valencia, doctor in Roman Philology and author of several books on the cultural and social heritage of Jumilla.

Bodegas Viña Elena has been awarded the Business Development Award for its technological evolution without losing respect for the heritage and family tradition of three generations.

The recognition as Jumilla's Ambassador will go to the Cooperativa de Transportistas de Jumilla (Cotraju), a reference in the town with about 200 partners that bear the name of the municipality to all corners of the country and Europe.

The Equality award will be for the Athletic Club Jumilla, to promote the female sport with a staff in which the girls have special prominence and have been opening step by step demonstrating that the elite sport is not only for men.

The Defense of Human Values ​​Award will be for the Local Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, which after decades working in the municipality continues to raise funds for training and research oncology, as well as carrying out information campaigns and support for patients and families .

Special Mention 2018 will have, the agent of the Local Police, Pascual David Muñoz, responsible for the school road education campaign 'See, hear, feel' and the delegation in Jumilla of the Hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes, which is celebrating this year the 50th anniversary of the diocesan pilgrimage.

The Hypnos Awards will be held on Sunday January 20 at a public ceremony at the Teatro Vico.
