The Department of Environment and the Association of Sustainable Climbing Altiplano Murcia have worked together in the development of a triptych of flora species of special interest for their conservation that are present in the Sierra del Buey.
The Councilor for the Environment, Juan Gil, pointed out that "the Sierra del Buey is a space where human activity is constant, through climbing, hiking, running or mountain biking and, in addition, it is a mountain classified as SCI ( place of community interest), by the type of flora and fauna species that live there, so we decided that the City of Jumilla, would collaborate in the development and dissemination of this triptych.
Many of the activities that are done in natural spaces suppose an impact on the flora and fauna.
One way to preserve its biodiversity was to make it known to citizens, since information is an essential tool to minimize the impact.
"From the Department of the Environment we applaud this initiative and we hope that little by little, through actions like this, the citizens of Jumilla will know the biodiversity of the natural spaces that exist in the municipality in order to preserve them. know them, so let's take care of our own, "said the councilor of the area.
