The Department of Public Health calls for caution to citizens in order to prevent tiger mosquitoes appear in the cemetery.
For this reason, it offers different advice recommended by the General Directorate of Health in order to control its expansion and avoid larval rearing.
It involves drilling the containers used to deposit flowers to ensure that no water is accumulated, as well as using other resources to maintain the humidity of the flowers, such as foams inside the vases to absorb the water.
It is also important to remove vases and ornaments from niches where water can accumulate.
The tiger mosquito is a species that reproduces easily in stagnant water.
Therefore, the greatest focus must be placed on gardens and terraces, since their ideal habitat is composed of small accumulations of water in dishes of pots, accumulations of rainwater in umbrella feet or other types of containers such as domestic animal drinkers.
Cemeteries, likewise, are an ideal place for this species to reproduce.
