The Department of Social Policy of the City of Jumilla, through the Accompaniment Program and in collaboration with the Abraham Project Association, has launched for the second year the Handyman Workshop for people who are in a process of high vulnerability or exclusion Social.
"Given the success of the organization last year, we decided to offer it again," said the area councilor, Salvi Pérez.
The objective is to teach to make small adjustments, repairs and tasks of basic maintenance of the home, getting to acquire the skills and knowledge of what is called daily "a handyman".
It is also complemented with a few hours to acquire pre-employment skills, with students having the opportunity to work on the contents learned in the Shelter that the City Council has in the locality and that the Social Services Center manages.
"In addition, and in a collateral way, it allows them to increase their social networks, support, belonging to the community and feelings of usefulness," said the councilor of the area, Salvi Pérez.
The Handyman Workshop has started today and will end on December 19.
The theoretical part will be carried out in the Social Center Hermitage of the Third District, with a total of 80 hours between theory and practice.
