Last week, the works for the renovation of the Juan Ramón Jiménez street collector carried out with the aim of solving the problems of rainwater evacuation in the area were completed.
In episodes of intense rain there was an excessive accumulation of water in the street, sidewalks and even entrances of homes and basements, causing flooding, due to the lack of capacity of the network in the stretch between the avenues of Reyes Católicos and Libertad.
These situations occur in this section due to its unique characteristics, since it is the one with the lowest elevations in the city and it becomes the final receiver of the precipitations of a large urban sub-basin that begins in Cerro del Castillo.
A new reinforced concrete collector, with a diameter of 1,200 mm, has been built, as well as a new mixed box-type scupper with its corresponding connection to the new collector.
Likewise, the existing connection pipes between the drains of the southwest corner of the junction between Juan Ramón Jiménez and Reyes Católicos have been extended.
The performance was carried out by the company Ayllonza SL for an amount of 69,583.11 euros.
