The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, highlighted this morning at a press conference that "the final result of the remodeling works of the Avenida de la Libertad will be in three months."
The first local authority has added that it was a work "projected by the state of feeling of neglect that has especially the area of flower beds between the Courts and the Plaza del Camionero".
On the other hand, the Town Planning Councilor coincided in emphasizing that "it will be an avenue as few other municipalities have".
Both have wanted to offer even more details about the improvements to be made in the face of the controversy caused by the felling of 13 trees, which will be replaced by another 15 more appropriate for the area.
"Everything has been done with criteria, not capriciously, based on technical reports that proposed it, as early as October 2017, not now," says Juana Guardiola.
"It has been said, in addition, that tarays are a protected species, something that is not true," he added.
Likewise, it has been reported that "the species that were recoverable, such as bushes and palm hearts, have been transplanted", which have been taken to the median of Pintor Antonio Mañas Street, leaving two palm trees hanging.
"In the remodeling project was not expressly cited the felling, since it was a job that should not be done by the contractor, but the gardeners, but could be seen in the plans," says the mayor.
Finally, Francisco González, recalled that in recent years have been up to 665 new trees planted in the municipality, "which shows that respect for the environment of this Government is maximum and all ordinances are met."
